| The #9 is the oldest steam locomotive in Taiwan. However this locomotive did not operate the first Taiwan railway Because #9 was built by Avonside of England in 1871. When a railway opened in Japan in 1871, this locomotive used between Tokyo and Yokohama. In 1901 it was sent in Taiwan from Japan. It became oldest steam locomotive in Taiwan. |
