From 1936 to 1941, the Nippon-Sharyo in Japan was built in 7 cars of this class. The first time was called to The imperial Taiwan government railway's C12 class. The class name of this time was the same as Japan JNR C12 class.However, a little different of locomotive weight. After WWII, was changed to CK120 class in TRA. Then now the one car is kept in Taiwan.
